Video Production

The use of video in an online course enhances the students’ online experience and can provide them with opportunities for critical thinking and knowledge application.

Enhance your online course with video!

eLearning Services offers video production services to provide faculty the opportunity to integrate digital media in their online courses. Lectures, demonstrations, guest speakers, and case studies all can be included to supplement the rest of your course content.

The offline format of this class discusses cases involving key problems in marketing management in-class. These cases have been chosen across a variety of industries and periods to help develop a broad perspective. Simply put, case method of learning involves discussions on real-life situations faced by business executives. In reviewing these cases, the class is essentially getting into the shoes of senior executives. Students use available quantitative and qualitative information from the case, ‘connect the dots’ with insight, and take managerial decisions involving marketing and business variables.

Here is what some of our faculty are saying:

My goal with online version of this class is to make accessible in-class case discussions as closely as possible. The online version for case discussion students has two phases. In the first phase students use the discussion forum to post their thoughts, respond to other views from other students etc. Although satisfactory, the discussion forum perhaps lacks the richness and vivacity of an in-class discussion experience. Hence, they also view the video from an in-class case discussion session after the discussion forum exercise. This combination should hone their critical thinking abilities.

College of Business – Marketing Strategy Course

When developing my on-line accounting course, I was debating between using video versus a “pencast” technology to demonstrate course problems.  I assembled a student focus group and they overwhelmingly chose the video.  I believe the video significantly enhances the course delivery and I appreciate the invaluable contribution of time and talent of the eLearning team.
